President’s Message

 Dear Parents,

Our school community continues to work together to face the challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic. 2022 will be a year of change for our school and our APEEE: we wish Mr Manuel Bordoy all the best in his new role as Deputy Secretary General for the European Schools, and look forward to continuing our work together with him. The APEEE will say a fond farewell and warmest wishes to Mr Eric Piettre, our Director for over 10 years since our earliest days in Berkendael. Mr Piettre will be succeeded by Mr Eric Rega, and we are confident that the handover will take place smoothly.

After 8 years on the Board, my mandate as President is coming to an end at our next General Assembly, which will take place virtually on Jan 25, 2022. There will be 10 vacant posts up for election. If you would like to become more involved in our school life or in managing the APEEE services, I invite you to consider submitting your candidature for the Board. As parents, we work together with the students, teachers, school management, other European Schools (through Interparents) and Office of the Secretary General to strengthen and improve our children’s school experience.

I hope everyone has a warm and relaxing holiday break and send my best wishes for the new year.

Best regards,
Kristin Dijkstra, President of the APEEE of Brussels IV
