WHO WE ARE?

The Parents Association of the Brussels IV European School (APEEE BRU IV) is a not-for-profit international association (AISBL) which has been established in accordance with Belgian legislation.
The APEEE BRU IV offers Transport, Canteen, and Extracurricular activities to a growing school community, which already has more than 3000 students and 8 language sections. More about us, can be found here.

 

Canteen

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef de Cuisine to manage our association’s school canteen. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organisation, where the candidate will be responsible for the complete organisation of the kitchen, from managing the team to developing the menus.

You will supervise the quality of dishes, ensure compliance with hygiene standards, and provide a high-quality catering service tailored to a school environment. Working closely with the canteen service manager, you will contribute directly to the continuous improvement of the quality of meals offered to pupils, while developing your culinary and management skills in a multicultural environment. The candidate will also play a key role in enhancing the APEEE’s services and the well-being of the pupils.

 

Main activities:

– Organising the kitchen: managing the team, drawing up schedules, ensuring that equipment is working properly.

– Supervising the pace and quality of work in compliance with HACCP hygiene standards.

– Designing balanced and varied menus, considering seasonality, the nutritional needs of pupils and the budget.

– Managing a brigade consisting of a second-in-command and commis chefs, working closely with a dietician to develop menus.

– Respecting and applying internal canteen service procedures.

– Creating technical sheets for each dish and establishing a real culinary style for the school.

– Working closely with the restaurant manager and adhering to the spirit of the establishment.

Profile required:

Education: Diploma in hotel and catering, with significant experience in a community kitchen.

Skills:

– Excellent command of hygiene and cleanliness standards (HACCP).

– Good command of spoken and written French and English.

– Demonstrated culinary talent and creativity in developing menus.

– Ability to anticipate, react quickly and work independently.

– Good physical condition, rigour and respect for environmental commitments.

– Availability, flexibility and ability to interact effectively with internal and external contacts.

Contract :

– PERMANENT CONTRACT

– Working hours: From 05:30 to 14:00

– Salary to be determined according to experience
