Transport – Back to school situation

During the first three weeks of the new school year, we have experienced various challenges.

The lack of drivers among bus companies is a serious issue affecting our transport service. Despite our research, we have not yet been able to find solutions for several bus lines, either among the bus companies we work with or with other companies operating in the Brussels region. Despite this difficult situation, we have managed to find two bus companies that could take over two bus lines in the course of November 2022.

In addition, we have had to deal with drivers who do not notify on time the bus company of their absence. The transport service is working on solutions to improve the proactivity of the service, and we will come back to you with our solutions.

We are also facing a shortage of bus monitors and despite our efforts, we are finding it very difficult to hire people for this position.

In addition, our transport service has been working understaffed between Monday 5 September 2022 and Friday 16 September 2022, and has done its utmost to ensure the best possible service for the children. Since Monday 19 September, our transport service is back to full strength.

We would like to assure you that our transport service is working in close collaboration with the bus companies and is doing everything necessary to ensure that all bus lines run smoothly.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.
