1st semester :

The objective of the first semester is to introduce children to the practice of Taekwondo.

The children learn the basics of Taekwondo, so they work on movement coordination, spatial orientation and the development of self-confidence. It is a discipline that emphasizes respect and important human values, such as courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and fighting spirit, called by Taekwondoists “indomitable spirit”. Through exercises and games, children develop their attention and concentration skills.

Students will learn basic foot and fist techniques and how to identify the elements that enable them to recognize danger and react appropriately. To practice and perfect their techniques, the first fights will take place but without contact.

2nd semester :

The objective of the second semester is to introduce combat and self-defense techniques.

The physical preparation program is more complex and the children begin to learn effective combat and self-defense techniques. Muscle strengthening and flexibility activities are introduced to the children. They have the possibility to participate in competitions and to pass belts, if they are affiliated to the Belgian Taekwondo Federation. Equipment accessible via the instructor.
