Storytelling workshop

Each week the children will have fun learning a new tale with a game or activity associated with it. A story at the service of learning: discovery, creativity and understanding of a moral.

With Claire:

Friday (as part of “Multi-activity”), 12h50 – 15h00

1st semester

The objective of the first semester is to improve the learning of reading and understanding of stories, while stimulating creativity.

The stories discussed can be taken from books, audio or even videos. Students, if they wish to share a story, can also bring books from home.

All these stories are used as a basis for discussions with the children so that they can express their feelings and understandings. Children’s stories are a wonderful tool for language and vocabulary development. The themes are diverse – cultures & the world, animals, nature & ecology or warriors.

2nd semester

The aim of the second half of the year is to stimulate the imagination for the creation of new stories.

During the second half of the year, the children begin to become familiar with the stories and their structure. They discover new stories from different cultures and their folkloric backgrounds. These discoveries enrich their culture, open their minds and stimulate their imagination and creativity.

Children make up their own stories and bring them to life. They create their characters using newspapers, magazines or scraps of cloth and use origami to tell their stories, together with music.
