1st semester
The objective of the first semester is to discover percussion and its possibilities while having fun. The children play music they love while acquiring precision and autonomy.
Children become familiar with percussion while learning to play together from the beginning. The teacher plays along with the piano to get them used to playing with another instrument and the music is recorded so that they can listen to each other and then improve. The children are also introduced to composition, meaning that they think about the music they want to create and how to get there, and sometimes they will watch musical performances as a support.
2nd semester
The objective of the second semester is to be able to play music with other musicians and to practice composing one’s own songs. The children will enjoy playing.
During the second half of the year, the children deepen the composition part and record their creation. They will have carried out a lot of trials in order to discover all the musical possibilities available to them. They prepare the mini concert at the end of the year: they choose the repertoire and practice playing it and they will also prepare for the public performance.
