Music, rhythm and movement

"Would you like to participate in a kind of musical psychomotricity? This activity combines the learning of music, rhythm and motor skills."

With Batiste:

Monday, 15h10 – 16h10

Tuesday, 15h10 – 16h10

1st semester

The objective of the first semester is to stimulate active listening to music, develop a sense of rhythm and motor skills.

The children will activate their musical awareness, through the discovery of different types of music (classical, modern or piano improvisation). They will be invited to interpret the musical pieces with their bodies and movements, for example they will do body percussion and play with small instruments. This will help to develop motor skills.

Through games, such as the orchestra conductor game, the children will discover many musical instruments (castanets, claves, triangles, maracas, musical eggs, but also xylophones and boomwhakers) and will be introduced to the basics of music: pitches, nuances, speed, notes.

2nd semester

The aim of the second semester is to create a small orchestra. The children will prepare a music and movement show.

At the beginning of the semester, the children will choose the music they liked best during the first part of the year. Then several activities around the story will be organised, leaving a lot of room for creativity.

The learning of rhythmics related to body movement in space will be deepened: the children learn to walk or make different movements (lifting arms, turning around, interacting with friends etc.) according to the rhythm.
