Elena Tzanavalou

Pedagogical vision

Elena is an arts educator, theatrologist and dramaturge.

She holds a Master’s degree in Drama and Performance Theory, History and Analysis from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies from the Catholic University of Leuven. She also holds a teaching diploma (ballet, contemporary dance and eurythmics) issued from the Greek Ministry of Culture.

Elena has worked as a dramaturge, assistant director/choreographer, production assistant and performer in several shows and festivals in Greece, Belgium, and the Netherlands. In addition, she has taught theatre, educational drama and dance to children and teenagers (Greece, Spain, Ireland, UK) as well as movement improvisation to actors.

Over the years Elena has collaborated with organisations such as the Kunstenfestivaldesarts (BE), DansBrabant (NL), the National Theatre of Northern Greece, Interacting S.L. (ES/UK) among others.

Currently, Elena is also a participant in the European research project Micro/Macro Dramaturgies in Dance (Creative Europe 2021-2023).
