Children damaged by Trauma – Q&A autism, ADHD, LD – 7/03

ADHD ASC & LD Belgium Asbl is organising two events on Saturday 7 March 2020

  • How would we know if our child has been damaged by Trauma? By Saretha Naudé – 13.30 to 15.30

This session is intended for teachers, and parents / family members about traumatic experiences in childhood.

As much as we seek to protect our children from the harsher side of life, trauma does occur – it could result from the death of a close family member or a beloved pet. It could be caused by a change of family circumstances – a divorce, or even the birth of a sibling. A child may be traumatised by moving abroad, leaving known & loved friends behind and /or starting a new school.

This session will answer the questions:
*How can we tell that a child has experienced trauma?
* How can we support a child after a traumatic experience?
* Which professionals can help to support the school staff and parents of the child?
