Carla Jaci

Carla is a singer and music teacher born in Brasília (Brazil). She graduated in music from the University of Brasília, holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and a Master’s degree in Lyric Singing from IMEP (Namur), all with great distinction.

Carla has participated as a soloist in several musical workshops and festivals in Brazil and Europe with Marta Herr, Henri Ferge and Nadine Denize. In 2010, she won for the second time the Prize of the Chamber Music Competition at the Brasília Music School. In 2017, she is awarded the Prize of the International Competition “Giovani Promesse” in Bracigliano (Italy).

She has played the role of Nella from the Opera Gianni Schicchi, Puccini and the role of Giulietta from the Opera Les contes d’Hoffmann, Offenbach. In Belgium and France, Carla performed the solo in Will Todd’s ‘Mass in Blue’.

Between 2006 and 2011, she took part in the Cantus Firmus choir directed by Isabela Sekeff (Brasília). Together with Cantus Firmus, she took part in several festivals in the United States, Ecuador, Spain and Argentina. She also performed as a chorister in the Festival Ópera (Brasília) performing Carmen, La Bohème and Cavalleria Rusticana.

Carla has taught in the Canadian school Maple Bear in Brasilia (2006-2010) in music and choir. Since 2010 she has been teaching piano and music theory for beginners.

Since 2018, Carla has been teaching with passion and dedication singing, choir, piano and music theory for beginners for the extracurricular activities service at the European School Brussels IV.
