Micaela Ferrão

Pedagogical vision

Through music we can develop a sense of individual and collective responsibility, which means being a part of something bigger than ourselves, transforming children into adults with great sensitivity to the arts and fellow companion.

Micaela Ferrão had her first contact with music at the age of 4 through the piano and at 7 with the cello. In 2012 she begins her first Bachelor at Superior School of Music and Performing Arts (Oporto, Portugal).

Micaela had the opportunity to work with great jazz musicians during the Guimarães Jazz Festival editions. She has also collaborated with Sandro Norton on the project “Flying High … At the Heart of It” where she had the pleasure of sharing the stage with 6 times Grammy winner Gary Burton.

In 2016 she became part of the Neue Philharmonie München Youth Orchestra (Munich, Germany) where she had the opportunity to play in venues such as Herkulessal Der Residenz (Munich) and Stadthalle Kassel (Kassel). In 2019 and 2020 she is invited to participate in Al Bustan Festival Orchestra Academy (Beirute, Lebanon) and to be part of Suoni dal Golfo Festival playing with Orchestra Excellence based in Lerici, Italy. She is in the reserve lists of US Chamber (Norway) and Bruocsella Symphony Orchestra (Belgium).

Since 2017 she has had the opportunity to study with Lluís Claret (Barcelona, Spain) and do an Orchestral Post Graduation at Högskolan för Scen och Musik in 2018 (Gothenburg, Sweden). Recently, she has obtained her second Bachelor and she is now completing her Master at Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels.

Micaela started her teaching career in 2016 and she believes that it is very important to help children develop and improve fine motor skills. In her lessons the children can play a set of games focused on rhythmic games, imitation games, educational music, as well as complementary multidisciplinary games that involve creating stories through drawings, music, posture and body movements.
