Eureka! is expanding to Secondary

eureka

eurekaAfter a difficult start in September, Eureka! is now up and running in both Primary and Secondary!

The Eureka! service was originally set up by parents & is entirely run by volunteers. Lost & Found boxes are placed near the main doors of each nursery, primary, secondary and garderie buildings and near the gym halls. On Fridays, Eureka! volunteers empty the boxes and also pick up all lost items found in the cantine, library and around the yards. In the Primary section, labelled items are returned directly to the children in their classrooms. In the Secondary, they are placed in the Educational Advisers offices, where they can be collected. When at all possible, we will try to let Secondary parents know, through their class representatives, that an item bearing the name of their child has been found. Any valuables found are handed in to the Primary Secretariat or the Secondary Educational Advisers. All non-named items are kept and put on display in the Eureka! rooms for at least two months. At the end of each school term, unclaimed items of clothing are donated to a charity chosen by the Eureka team of volunteers.

Did you lose us? Space constraints and an ever-growing school meant the Eureka room had to move at the beginning of the year. Given the location and size of the new room, we quickly realised that it would only be suitable for the Primary Lost & Found  but, after some searching, another room has been made available for us in the W building, for the Secondary Eureka!

The opening hours for the Eureka service are:

Primary (room J.U1.003): 9h00 to 13h15 pm and 15h00 to 18h00 (parents allowed to access the school only from 12h15 to 1h15 pm)

Secondary (room W.04.009): 10h30 to 13h30

Could you find some time? With the opening of the new room, the demands on the Eureka team have obviously grown. We need your help! If you want to lend a hand, even if you only have a couple of hours to spare, please get in contact with us. Eureka is a parents’ project who depends entirely on the availability of volunteers.
