Eureka! EN

The Eureka! Service has been created by parents and is completely managed by volunteers.

“Lost & Found” boxes are positioned nearby main doors in nursery, primary, secondary buildings, but also in the gymnasium changing rooms and in the canteen. Each Friday morning, Eureka! team of volunteers collect all the lost objects in these boxes, in the playground and in the library.

In the nursery and primary, belongings labelled with the kid’s name are given back to the owner directly in the classroom.

In the secondary, belongings labelled with kid’s name are made available in Mr. Dörr’s office (Build. A. room 006). Parents are informed via their class representatives.

All unlabelled belongings, except sport bags for secondary students, are kept available in the Eureka! room, located in the basement of building J (primary). All secondary students’ sport bags are made available in Mr. Dörr’s office.

Eureka! room being very small, and considering the important volumes of collected objects each week, it is not possible to keep lost items for long. After 2 months, unclaimed items are given to charities chosen by Eureka! volunteers. This year, “open doors” days are organised jointly with the main school events (may be restricted for security reasons).

Eureka! room (Build. J basement) is opened each Friday AM from 9.00 to 12.30. Kids are welcome here the whole morning. Parents willing to come (Friday AM only) have to send an email to eureka@bru4.eu indicating their first and last name as well as the date of their visit. We must receive this email at the latest the day before, as it has to be integrated in the school’s visitors list.

As you know, the number of kids is growing each year. Unfortunately, the number of volunteers is not evolving in a parallel way. We need help to keep the level of service, which depends on the availability and goodwill of everybody. If you have time on Friday mornings, you are welcome!!!! Do not hesitate to contact us!
