Dear APEEE parents,
As we close out the 2025–2026 school year, I want to take a moment to look back on a year of change, and renewed energy for our association.
Following the internal Board elections held on 5 March, I was appointed President of the APEEE, supported by our Vice-Presidents Ms Pénélope Vlandas (Services), Ms Dana Adriana Puia Morel (Pedagogical Affairs) and Ms Noémie Hangya-Lachmann (Community Affairs), our Treasurer Mr Stefan Petrovski and our Board Secretary, Ms Alexandra-Mariana Cojocaru. Together with the newly elected Board, we built our programme around three main pillars: Services, Pedagogical Affairs and Community Affairs; all united by two shared goals: serving the parents and pupils of EEB4 and to propose services with the best quality/price accessible to all pupils.
- The Services Committee has worked directly with the APEEE Director, in coordination with the managers of the three services – transport, canteen and extracurricular activities – striving to innovate and do our very best for our pupils.
- Meanwhile, our Pedagogical Committee (in close collaboration with the section representatives) continued an open dialogue with school management, working together on solutions for the challenges our students face, from creating phone-free spaces to school trip costs.
- Furthermore, our Community Committee kept the heart of our school beating. The Social Fund supported families with school-related expenses, the Community Fund supported initiatives from the school and at the end of the year, we celebrated as a community, during our beloved Somerfesto event, organised by the Somerfesto Committee (Dan Nicolae, Fedia Matarelli, Lourdes Alvarellos, Angela Guarino, Josephine Norris, Alessandra de la Croce and Jane Okafor) together with many volunteers parents, which welcomed more than 4 thousand visitors.
None of this would be possible without our dedicated APEEE staff nor without the volunteer members of the Board, our Section and Class Representatives, our Eureka! volunteers, the Students’ Committee and every parent who lent a hand this year. Your time and commitment are the backbone of everything the APEEE achieves.
I would also like to thank the school management and all support staff for their continued dedication to making EEB4 a stimulating and welcoming place for our children, year after year.
As we look ahead to 2026–2027, our mission remains the same: to represent the parents of the European School of Laeken, and to strengthen an open, caring and united community that reflects European values.
