P1-P5 : Thursday, 15h10 – 16h10
The objective of the first semester is help pupils practice social and emotional skills, relax, bond as a group and stimulate discussion in order to develop self-awareness and self-control.
During the first semester each session focuses on specific issues presented in various activities, such as games, discussions, problem solving exercises, collaborative reflection, and role play. These activities provide opportunities for children to interact with each other, to identify emotions and regulate them and as a result they feel more self-confident as they have identified their strengths and talents and improved their solving problems skills.
The objective of the second semester is to develop social awareness, interpersonal skills and responsible decision making.
During this second period pupils concentrate on other aspects of social skills. As they interact with each other, and for some exercises they work in pairs or as a group, cooperation and collaboration is encouraged, they also work on conflict resolution, managing stress, improving communication and enhancing diversity. This activity helps children to handle situations more assertively and also to be more caring for each other.
